This original creation is acclaimed by all those who have already discovered it.
It's done, the first two episodes of the British series Criminal Record are available on Apple TV+. The streaming platform has offered an official synopsis of its original creation. Here it is in full:
Criminal Record, from BAFTA Award nominee Paul Rutman (“Vera,” “Indian Summers”), is a gripping new crime thriller set in London, starring Academy Award winner Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo. An anonymous phone call draws two brilliant detectives into a confrontation over an old murder case - a young woman at the start of her career and an influential man determined to defend his position. The series addresses issues of race, institutional failure and finding common ground in a polarized Britain.
The first reviews are in and they are extremely positive for this series. We can notably quote Aramide Tinubu of Variety who points out: “Rutman and co-directors Jim Loach and Shaun James Grant never drop the ball. Here, all the pieces of the puzzle come together and connect in shocking and unexpected ways. »
Lucy Mangan of the Guardian agrees: “Only Jumbo or Capaldi can hold attention. Together, as adversaries, they are mesmerizing. If there is ever going to be an award for best joint performance, let it be awarded this year, for them. »
In France, Stéphanie Guerrin of Le Parisien also appreciated this production: “As captivating as it is effectively carried out, the scenario of Criminal Record manages to keep you in suspense without superfluous effects. Each stage of the investigation is meticulously staged and the details of the day of the murder at the heart of the series are only revealed late. »
These good ratings are notable on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic where Criminal Record currently obtains scores of 84% and 74. Have you already been able to watch the first two episodes of the series, and if so, what did you think of them? you think ? Tell us in the comments.
